An application for healthcare professionals to help assess the current state of health of a patient. Other calculators allow you to estimate the severity of a condition and offer further helpful information for clinical treatment guidelines, disease diagnosis aids, differential diagnosis aids, laboratory test interpretation, and medical exams. It saves time as most health care providers have not memorised so many medical formulas and do not have computational speed. So this tool allows you to select your speciality and have related calculations as you tap the calculate button.

Project Summary

Problem

Lack of computational speed for healthcare professionals. Calculation of various scores and indices or any medical interpretation can be challenging and not knowing normal values can be a limitation.
My role
I was the UI designer for this project. So, my role was to conceptualize the overall look and feel of the product. I had also collaborated with three of my colleagues on the mobile team. This application was developed for the Philippine Society of Nephrology (PSN), one of the United Laboratories' (UNILAB) internal clients.
Wireframes
I initially created sketches and wireframes after having information gathering with the client and our Systems Analyst in the team who had translated every little detail into formal documentation that served as our systems requirements specification (SRS). So from this step, I managed to come up with a simple, intuitive, and sleek design theme.
Mockups
Subsequently, I proceeded to the making of the mockup screens to propose different design options for the client. The image below shows the design that we had implemented from the layouts that I'd provided. I came up with a simple and clean UI design because I wanted to incorporate the freshness look and feel for healthcare professionals. Besides, cleanliness can be regarded as contributing to other ideals such as health and beauty. So I didn't want to make it too fancy since the sole purpose of this app is to allow the user to select their specialty and get the related calculations.

Prototypes
I managed to create clickable prototypes so I could easily demonstrate every detail of my design. All in all, it had been a fun journey for us, my team. We were able to implement the specifications. The Product Owner was collaborative and open to suggestions. In a way, it made the development process easy. The two sample prototype videos below cover the process of user registration and medical calculator functionality.
